Rust Sweater, Animal Scarf

How do you choose what to wear? 

Is it determined by your mood, what color you feel like wearing, maybe a new item you want to wear?  What you have going on that day?

All of these are what go into me choosing what to wear each day.

Sometimes, though, I pick one item and try to create a new outfit with it.

That is what I did today with this rust colored sweater.

 

I bought this sweater last year and I wore it once or twice.

I got it out again, and went for my scarf next.  This is a newer purchase.

I built from there... jeans?  No I've done that before.  How about a little dress?

Built from there to choose leggings, because it's cold, then comfy sweater boots to keep it casual.

 

I was warm and comfy, and stylish all day!

Adding Fall to My Lightweight Dress

 This is a fun fall dress I got last year.  Can you see the stripes?

It's cute, but lightweight.  I needed to fall it up a little... so I didn't have to hike the heat up... hubs doesn't like how that hikes the bill up! :)

 

I added leggings, a scarf, jacket and boots!

Yep, that will do!

Scarves help keep you so warm don't you think?

 

 

 

 



Ruffles, ruffles everywhere

Never underestimate the comfort of a shirt dress and leggings.

We know I'm a stay at home mom, and when I'm home I like to be comfy... but when I go out I want to look cute.  This look has both!

 

AND it's plaid!  How are you wearing your plaid right now?

 

I think this look is better with the olive jacket.

Too many ruffles... nah, never!

A little leather belt adds some shape and it has been warm here... haven't even worn boots all that much!  I'm glad, I have plenty of cute flats that need some wear time!

These Boots Were Made for Combat.

Well, not really.

This is the first time I've worn these new boots.  They were a recent new purchase.

I do have quite the collection of boots, but this is my inaugural wear for the fall.

As you can see, I busted out the leggings again... and I wore this yesterday... this is how I was feeling yesterday... not so pretty!
And apparently I need to clean this mirror!

I got everything at +Marshalls with the exception of the leggings, those are Target.

 

I'm sure I'll be able to find many things to wear these with!  Can't wait!

Some Days Are Chill Days...

Some days are chill days.  Not too many people will see you, you don't have important places to go...

BUT, that doesn't mean you don't get dressed... most of the time!

 

Here are some recent 'chill days' looks.

 

First, some loose fitting capri's, with a tee and hoodie. 

These shoes are perfect for this look, they add some deliberate style, inferring I still care what I look like!

A nice baggy top, that is a little more effort than a plain old tee shirt, makes it seem as if I did something more than put a shirt over my head!  I love that! 

And, these neon sandals are still giving me love!  Such a great purchase!

This last look is a first for me.  Normally I don't wear leggings in public!  I wear tights to the dance studio.  I wear leggings under a shorter dress, but I don't just wear leggings.

So, again a first for me.. and I was so comfy I may just do it again!

Do I look like I'm 4 months preggers in this photo?  I sort of think so!

What is Black, White... and Leather...?

That would be me I guess!

Not too long ago my man and I celebrated 16 years of marriage.  I've yet to blog about it... mostly because like all things I get this great idea that takes 20 hours to put together instead of just writing about it!

Anyway... because he knows me well he got me a gift card to Marshalls... because I love that store!

 

I promptly went shopping!

At the end of my hunting I looked in my cart and everything was black and white... except my new workout wear, but that's to be expected.

This is crazy for me because I seldom wear black.  I love color!

Still, I went for it.

 

Here is what I added to my closet...

 

Oh no you didn't... oh yes I did!  Leather leggings... in the front, because my butt doesn't look good enough to don leather!  The back is regular spandex, hides more!

 

Leather is a must this fall.  So are classic prints.  I love this hounds tooth print top, can't wait to wear it!  I thought that little triangle guy was fabulous... I plan to wear it with the leather or some bold colored pants.

 

Do you love this jacket?  Oh my... love!  Leather AND black and white!

 

I have too many boots for one person, but I don't have a combat style boot.  Thank you Marshalls... these will do!
