Got this dress from Target, on clearance of course.  It is a sleeveless dress, I think it was summer clearance. 

No problem!  I paired it with my faux leather, studded jacket, also seen here, to keep me warm.

As a photographer I know the importance of posing.  Seriously it's amazing how standing a certain way makes you look 10 lbs heavier or lighter... unless you look like this, than it really doesn't matter...  actually I take that back, even stick figures can look better with the right posing!

 

 

When I'm taking pictures I tell people to adjust here and there to help them look their best, lift your chin, twist like this a little... etc.

 

My problem is when I stand in front of the camera and my children or husband is behind it... no one is telling me what adjustments I need to make! 

 

This is why I prefer to shoot in front of the mirror!  I can see what needs to change, what looks most flattering and I go with it! 

 

Last post I told you I'd show you how I wore that purple shirt... not that it was a momentous occasion.... I actually am not in love with this look... I think it's the shoes... but I am wearing my purchase... that's the point... I think!

 

 

 

 I so love this jacket!  Not so flattering pose here!

 

Here is where it gets good!  Because after looking at my photos, then doing a retake, trying to make my own posing adjustments, my daughter getting tired of camera duty, little E ready to go play with his sister... who is taking pictures... I let it all hang out! 

 

I feel more comfortable this way actually!  This is more of who I am!

My kids were rolling on the ground laughing!  They love it when I'm a goof, which is often!

 

Now for the two-fer, because I'd hate to leave you with this last image of me!!!  That is for sure a 'Thriller' moment right?

 

Just another weekday, wearing perfect fitting jeans, you know!

I love this sweater.  It is sheer-ish and is woven with some gold.  It's fab!

 

I layered a couple of necklaces... and I don't love this lip color... not to self, don't wear it!

Leather... at Church?

Hello pretties!

Today is Sunday... I love Sunday!

Sunday is our Sabbath day.  In our home it is a day that is different from other days.  We dress differently, we go to church, we engage in different activities, we spend time together as a family.  It is a day of rest and reverence... as much as we can with little kiddies running around!

 

I love dressing up to go to church!

 

Today, however is General Conference.  In the history of this restored gospel saints have met together biannually to listen to the words of the apostles and prophet.

And, today is that day!

 

So, today I'm in my comfy's, snuggled with my kids, listening...

Have you ever heard of this?  I invite you to listen... be uplifted, hear words of counsel... it doesn't even matter what faith you are... this is for everyone!  There have already been several sessions and there are two more today... pick one and listen... I'd love to know what you think!

I found this amber skirt at Target.  I seriously find the best deals there, not all stores have the inventory mine does I guess!

I got this jacket this spring, also at Target... love it with this look!

 

I went with a high ponytail for some sass!

Great Butt Jeans and My New Jacket

Hi pretties!

Why is it one day you put on a pair of pants, and feel like a million bucks...

Then the next day try on different pants and feel like a heifer?

Is it possible I gained 10 lbs overnight?

I think not... rather it's all about the pants I put on that day.

Note to self... try on all pants and clean out, because yesterday... I didn't feel so hot!

 

So, it makes me feel good to post these today, because these jeans look good on me!

Calm down Carolyn... you are not a heifer!

 

This was a little number I wore all day, then out for date night with my man.

 

 

Oh ya, feeling good!

These jeans are DownEast Basics, they are one of my favorite pair.

 

Rear view... which can be scary butt not today!  That means you have a great pair of jeans... worth every penny!

 

Don't you love this top?  It's a great fall piece.  I love the lace.

Of course the evenings are chilly now.  I got to wear my new leather jacket out.  It really is adorbs right?

That would be me I guess!

Not too long ago my man and I celebrated 16 years of marriage.  I've yet to blog about it... mostly because like all things I get this great idea that takes 20 hours to put together instead of just writing about it!

Anyway... because he knows me well he got me a gift card to Marshalls... because I love that store!

 

I promptly went shopping!

At the end of my hunting I looked in my cart and everything was black and white... except my new workout wear, but that's to be expected.

This is crazy for me because I seldom wear black.  I love color!

Still, I went for it.

 

Here is what I added to my closet...

 

Oh no you didn't... oh yes I did!  Leather leggings... in the front, because my butt doesn't look good enough to don leather!  The back is regular spandex, hides more!

 

Leather is a must this fall.  So are classic prints.  I love this hounds tooth print top, can't wait to wear it!  I thought that little triangle guy was fabulous... I plan to wear it with the leather or some bold colored pants.

 

Do you love this jacket?  Oh my... love!  Leather AND black and white!

 

I have too many boots for one person, but I don't have a combat style boot.  Thank you Marshalls... these will do!
